On-site support is billed once consultants arrive at the client site and is available weekdays into the evening hours and on weekends by appointment. Gery L. Deer is a Technology Consultant and has been General Manager of Deer Computer Consulting, Ltd. since he opened the company  in 1998.  Gery's extensive technical background includes database development for Lexis-Nexis, software development for Nationwide Insurance Financial, mechanical engineering technologist with Whirlpool Corporation, and project management and technical support with IBM and Standard Register.

 Gery speaks at service organizations, science fiction conventions, and corporate functions. In 1998 Gery was one of the first (and few) technology professionals to publicly denounce the Y2K scare with the publication of his article entitled, "Y2K Is Not the End of the World."  He has been a freelance writer for technology publications and area newspapers for many years.  His column, "Techno-Babble," which can be read here on this site, spotlights consumer technology issues and gives practical solutions to daily problems. 

On A Personal Note

Gery spends his spare time with his wife and family. He is a musician with his family band, “The Brothers & Co. Entertainers,” and is an internationally-known whip artist. He is a lifetime member of the Jamestown Ohio Area Historical Society and in the year 2000 produced and directed a benefit variety show that raised more than $14,000 towards the renovation of the Jamestown Opera House.

Gery is also the Ohio regional coordinator for the International Wild West Performing Arts Foundation producing the “Annie Oakley Western Arts Showcase” convention every summer in Greenville, Ohio. In 2005 he founded the Society of American Whip Artistry which provides whip artists with educational programs leading to professional performing arts credentials. He was named the 2007 Wild West Performer of the Year by the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame. 

Gery and his wife Barbara often travel on weekends performing and managing their entertainment company - GLD Enterprises & Productions. Over the last few years, they have performed on a number of national television shows including NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”  Deer Computer Consulting, Ltd. and GLD Enterprises & Productions work together to present professional workshops and presentations throughout the year.
